FIR Registered After Posters Questioning Government Performance Found Inside Delhi Metro Train

New Delhi, October 24, 2026: Delhi Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified persons after two posters questioning the government’s performance were discovered inside a train on the Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line. The posters carried messages about public dissatisfaction, voting and community participation, along with a QR code inviting people to join an online group.

According to a report by The Times of India, citing news agency PTI and police sources, the posters were printed in black and white on A4-sized sheets. They included phrases such as “Dissatisfied? You Are Not Alone”, “Voting Protest”, “You Can Change Your Own Life”, “Spectrum of Engagement” and “Community Building Reform”. The material also contained nine claims about changes in the country over recent years.

The police have seized the posters, and the Special Cell has joined the investigation. Officials are trying to establish who placed the material inside the train. No individual has been publicly identified as responsible in the reports available so far.

How the Posters Were Discovered

The incident came to light on October 20, when Tarun Chaudhary, a train operator with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), was working on the Airport Express Line.

According to details mentioned in the FIR, Chaudhary operated a train from New Delhi station towards Yashobhoomi. The train departed at approximately 6.50 pm and reached its destination at around 7.15 pm.

During an inspection from inside the train cabin, he noticed two posters attached to a seat. He removed them and informed his senior officers and the Operations Control Centre about what he had found.

He was subsequently instructed to hand over the material to the station controller at Dwarka Sector 21. The station controller then informed the police, following which the posters were taken into custody. The material was seized on Friday, according to the reports.

The case was registered against unidentified individuals, and investigators are working to determine who put up the posters inside the metro coach. The police have not announced any arrests in connection with the incident.

What Was Written on the Posters?

The posters combined political messaging with phrases encouraging people to take part in public engagement. The words “Voting Protest” and “Dissatisfied? You Are Not Alone” appeared alongside messages about personal change and community building.

A QR code was also printed on the material. It invited readers to join an online group, although the available reports do not provide verified details about the group’s organisers, membership or purpose.

The posters reportedly listed nine claims concerning developments in the country in recent years. However, the published reports do not provide the complete text of those claims. Their accuracy has also not been independently established.

The wording suggests that the material was intended to draw attention to questions about governance and public participation. However, the identity, intentions and political affiliation of the people behind it remain unknown. It would therefore be premature to attribute the posters to any particular organisation or political group.

Investigation Underway

The involvement of the Special Cell indicates that the investigation is examining the circumstances in which the posters were placed inside the train. Police are seeking information that could help identify the person or people responsible.

At present, the publicly available information does not specify which legal provisions have been invoked in the FIR. It also does not establish whether the case concerns the act of placing unauthorised material inside a metro coach, the content of the posters, or other circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will need to establish the origin of the material and the people connected with it before responsibility can be determined. Until then, the allegations and the identity of those involved remain matters for investigators to examine.

The incident has brought attention to the use of public transport spaces for displaying political messages. Delhi Metro trains carry large numbers of passengers every day, and material placed inside a coach can reach people from different backgrounds during their regular journeys.

For now, the confirmed development is the registration of an FIR after two posters were found inside an Airport Express Line train. Police have taken the material into custody and are attempting to identify those responsible. Further details about the investigation, the QR code and the people behind the posters are awaited.

The case remains under investigation, and no conclusions about the individuals involved or their motives can be drawn from the posters alone.
