Mumbai, October 25, 2026: Advance ticket sales for Ramayana Part One, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, are gradually increasing ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on November 5. The film has crossed one lakh advance ticket bookings, with early sales indicating interest among moviegoers. However, the makers still have more ground to cover if the film is to reach the ambitious opening-day collection of ₹70 crore discussed in trade circles.
According to a Hindustan Times report published on October 24, the film had sold around 1.36 lakh tickets across India in the first four days of advance booking. Of these, approximately 87,000 tickets had been sold through major national cinema chains. The advance sales had generated around ₹7.74 crore at that stage, with the figure including bookings for seats blocked by exhibitors.
The film’s pre-sales began on Dussehra, giving it a relatively long booking window before its release. Its performance over the coming days will be important in determining whether the initial interest translates into stronger ticket sales across the country.
Advance Sales Show Gradual Growth
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana Part One is one of the major Hindi film releases planned for the festive season. Its advance booking performance is being closely watched because of the scale of the production, its star cast and the popularity of the epic on which it is based.
The film’s ticket sales have increased since bookings opened, although the pace has been slower than that of some recent major releases. Hindustan Times reported that Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, sold nearly 1.4 lakh tickets for its paid previews within 24 hours of bookings opening. Ramayana, by comparison, took four days to reach approximately 1.36 lakh advance tickets across markets.
The comparison offers an indication of the early sales pace, but it does not determine how either film will perform at the box office. Advance bookings can change significantly as the release date approaches, particularly when more theatres open their schedules and audiences begin making last-minute plans.
National Chains and Regional Bookings
The Hindi version has accounted for most of Ramayana’s early advance sales. Bookings for the Kannada version have been opening gradually, while the wider availability of shows in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam has also been developing.
According to the report, the regional-language versions had contributed a relatively small share of the total advance collection at the time of publication. The limited availability of screenings in some markets means the existing figures do not yet represent the film’s full booking potential across all languages.
Discussions between distributors and cinema operators over revenue-sharing arrangements have reportedly affected the opening of bookings in some regions. As more shows become available, the overall ticket count could change.
The national cinema chains remain an important part of the picture because they account for a significant portion of organised multiplex ticket sales. Still, bookings across smaller theatres and regional markets will also influence the film’s final opening-day performance.
Is a ₹70 Crore Opening Possible?
A ₹70 crore India net opening has emerged as an ambitious benchmark for the film in trade discussions. Reaching that level will depend on several factors, including the pace of advance bookings, the number of screens and shows available, audience response and the film’s performance in different language markets.
The November 5 release date falls on a Thursday, before the main Diwali holiday period. As a result, the film will not have the full benefit of a national holiday on its first day. Paid preview screenings scheduled for November 4 could, however, add to its early box-office total.
The final opening-day collection cannot be predicted from advance sales alone. Strong bookings in the last few days before release could improve the outlook, while the availability of additional shows will also matter. The ₹70 crore figure should therefore be viewed as a target rather than a confirmed or guaranteed result.
A Large-Scale Adaptation of the Ramayana
Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film is planned as the first part of a two-part adaptation of the Ramayana.
Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi portrays Goddess Sita, and Yash appears as Ravana. The cast also includes Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.
The first instalment is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The second part is planned for release during Diwali 2027.
For now, the early booking numbers suggest that audiences have begun securing tickets, but the film’s box-office prospects will become clearer as the release date approaches. The next stage of advance sales, wider regional availability and audience response will help establish whether Ramayana Part One can approach its projected opening-day target.
